A little too close for comfort: 7000 acre brush fire 10 miles away
#11
Fight fire WITH fire!

burn down your house now and drip gasoline right up to the edge of the fire.

That is what will help put the fire out sooner than you expected! Don't call claims until
after the fire has has reached your house - but it IS ok to start looking for a new one
as long as you use a fake name with realtors.

Nothing burns quite like a bags of popcorn or several potatoes, in the microwave on "5 hours" on high!

We're up to 10k acres now, but crews from Spokane are starting to get here to relieve the exhausted local fire crews. They had 200 people working over night, many since 2PM on Sunday.

Have they brought in any aircraft to dump fire retardant? A few years ago there were two planes circling and ready for action when a car fire on I-280 started a grass fire a few miles from my house. (CA SF Bay area).

Ever wonder what a fire truck looks like after it catches on fire?

The fire's size has been downgraded a bit to about 6,200 acres. Still pretty big in my opinion.
