What gene is it that allows Republicans to be so shameless?

Clinton was far more clever than to "become" a Republican. He essentially took the situation that existed and made the best of it (to his knowledge). If there was going to be a draconian crime bill, he worked to make it "slightly" less draconian. If there was going to be idiotic welfare reform, he made it "less" idiotic. These things (and many others) were "going" to happen when suddenly his job became "cushion the lunacy." He outsmarted Republicans which made them repeatedly slap their faces "Curly" style until Obama came along which made all of their daddies roll over in their graves.
