So the leaves disappear...

With all the cold weather it probably has been empty for a while.

I found one of those in a bush on the side of my yard in the early summer. It was in such a place that it posed a danger to the neighbors, because their house and driveway are on that side of the house.

Needless to say, it was full of hornets. And, not the friendly kinds - it was full of bald faced hornets.

I then had to get rid of them, they had built their nest in the wrong place.

Night time attack, 2 cans of wasp killer, a shovel to crack open the nest, and we mistakenly brought out a flash light... They can't see in the dark, unless you're foolishly carrying a lit flashlight.

We got a couple of bites/stings on the hands. Painful stuff. But now the neighbors are safe again.

I think my solution would have been to give the neighbors permission to take it down, if they felt threatened. Big Grin
