And initially a reluctant politician's wife. She was engaged to Gerald Ford when he announced his initial run for congress. She thought he would lose and that would be the end of it.

Shortly after their marriage, he won the election and the rest is history.

Truly in a class we will likely never see again.

She was a dedicated classy woman. Her husband was an upstanding man. Jimmy Carter once said that they were he and Rosalyn's best friends.
