CNN running the story on iPhone shut off technology
#21
AND the videos suck. AND they are all on youtube cluttering things up with their suckiness and wasting one's time when searching for a particular song. AND these people actually seem to think a song with the beginning and the end cut off is worth watching. Jeebus.

I recorded a concert on my iPhone last week (Roger McGuinn). Just over 50 minutes long, and didn't use up much of the battery. The video quality is excellent, as I was maybe all of about 25 feet away from him. Audio quality is "fair to good". The microphone isn't exactly the best quality. His only request was "no flash photography". But there were professional photographers using flash, so I guess that was meant only for the audience. There was no prohibitions on recording it, and I did it out in the open and nobody said a word.

Have you been to a concert lately? Seems a full third of concert goes are filming the concert with their crappy phone instead of enjoying the music.

I'd much rather create a movement identifying the behavior of video-ing a concert with your phone as a total douchebag move. Then no laws or shut off tech would be necessary.

Amen to that!

This technology should make the iPhone popular with certain Middle East country governments.
