Need new color laser printer. Suggestions?
#11
Every time this comes up, there's usually a lot of people who recommend Brother.

I have a 5 year old HP Color Laser Jet that is ok, but is big and makes a LOT of noise. If we leave it plugged in, about 2 or 3 times a day it cycles the cartridges, which takes about a minute and is really loud. When we run out of toner for it, I'm getting something else.

sekker, what model do you have?

MFC-9560CDW

Less than $600 at Amazon, good ratings:

I love the iPhone scanner app.

I bought an HP LaserJet CP1525nw color about 6 months ago and absolutely love it though have no point of reference in terms of color laser printers. Very easy set-up and the wireless printing has been great for my wife from her PC laptop and from the household iPhones and iPad when needed. The only wish would be that it had a greater tray capacity.

Thanks, all. This was really informative.

I pulled the trigger on the Samsung CLP-620ND, as suggested by Zoidberg. It's cheap enough so that I can try it out for a few months, and if we don't like it, we can go with something more like sekker's iphone-savvy model.

I'll report back with how the Samsung works out!

Since you have had success with Xerox, go with another: 6280DN for $375. I bought one for my newly minted freshman son to use throughout his college career. He loves it, especially the duplexing.

I'm very happy with my HP CP2025dn. I'll never buy a laser printer without duplexing, now that I'm accustomed to it.

Just a follow-up, for those watching this thread.

The Samsung has turned out to be unbelievably awesome. Can't believe there's this kind of speed, quality, quiet for something around $330. And while it's too soon to know the cost-per-page factor, from what I've read, it's right in there with the standard costs of color printers. 5 stars, two thumbs up.
