suggestions for a Wedding gift?
#11
thanks, between knives, bed sheets and candlesticks, I will pick something. I was thinking in the $200 range, is that too little?

Give them a crisp, new Benjamin. In a card. If you no longer worked with him a fondue pot would be perfect.

If they are not registered somewhere, $200 gift certificate or a debit card. For a car guy, my first thought was for Meguiars.com but they do not sell gift cards. Nobody that mentioned a fondue pot is getting invited to my wedding.

Since everyone will be getting them some crap the brides clicked on at the local BB&B or Macy's, be the only person to get them something useful, like a really nice orbital buffer for waxing the car. Maybe he needs a chain saw or drill press.

After our wedding, the wife and I looked at all the crap we (she) put on registry at Bed Bath Beyond and laughed, returned EVERYTHING for a gift card. Took a few years to spend it all.

I registered at Home Depot and no one got me anything, not a single item our of the 6 things I thought I could use. Turns out no one was ever told I registered there.

Look at the selections of gift boxes at Penzey's. It's a spice company.

Everyone eats, so it's a safe thing.

Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift...

Ashtrays are always good too. They never go out of style...and maybe a carton of Camels to go with it.

Amazon gift card, if they really aren't registered anywhere.

And, $200 is plenty, maybe even a little high, especially if you don't attend.

What are they doing for the honeymoon? We took a three week car trip through the southwest and several people got us prepaid gas cards. Great gift!

If they're flying somewhere, maybe a gift certificate for a nice restaurant near their destination?

Just a thought.
