Decent video, needs RAM, and lotsa room for expansion... maybe you can scavenge some more 256's or 512's for the empty RAM slots; the 1GB and 2GB sticks still have a bunch of value, and I assume you don't want to increase your "investment" in it before departure.
With 3 or 4GB RAM, it'll primp like a peacock.

Yeah, maybe I'll look for some 256/512 modules to fill it up.
I just emailed my daughter's middle school to see if they have a need. It's an arts-based charter school, so you never know.

I still use my G5 dual 2.3 daily. Still viable and useful.

Last May we gave over 3 dozen of them to a local school which is building its next iteration of a supercomputer with them.
Alos, I still have one in our graphics shop where it is used daily, along side our Mac Pros. ~D

Don't mean to be dismissive of your very worthy ambition of trying to use them constructively, but I saw a really cool photo recently of two of those boxes used beneath a glass top as a coffee table.

i'd use empty cases or dead units for that purpose, prymsnap. sounds cool.

Useful machine for a server. Add a Jive bracket and it will hold 5 hard drives. It's no i7 quad, but can probably hold it's own to similar speed C2D and early i5 machines
