These Logitechs seem to get good reviews. Starting at $99.

Why Bluetooth?

WiFi-based speakers use a lossless signal path and are much more flexible in terms of placement.

Agreed! Any powered set of speakers (stereo or 2.1) would work great wirelessly (not bluetooth) with any models of the Airport Express.

decay, have you ever experienced Airplay audio from an iPod/iPhone to the Airport Express devices? It's really cool, and long distance. Meaning, if you can keep a wifi signal to the same network the Airport Express is on, you've got audio streaming.

i'm thinking about when you have an iOS device (iPad, iPhone) and your BT speaker, and you're not at home on your WiFi, or you don't have an Airport Express set up with a centrally-located stereo system.

I love waterproof Bluetooth shower speakers. A year ago I bought this from Abcotechbrand shop due to their price and capability to produce clear sound in different environment. As you are asking about which one we should avoid, then avoid one which is not compatible with all Bluetooth devices and has very minimum connectivity range.
