Looking for a nano for my daughter...
#11
Ok. Let me back up here.

My SIL bought our daughter a 128gb iPad last year. She has a shit ton of apps, movies, pics and videos she's taken stored on it. That is what it's for. But it's just...unweildy.

She wanted a small iPod like mommy's JUST for her music so she could listen in her bedroom. Since the iPad is kind of awkward and won't plug into her speaker without an adapter. And even then it would still be awkward.

So, no. She doesn't need the biggest or the best. That's what her iPad is for.

Sure, but at this point the difference in price between an 8 GB and a 16 GB 5th gen Nano is negligible, unless you're just not willing to put in a few extra minutes to find that price.

You are correct. I've only done a cursory search. But that search revealed 16gb versions that were roughly twice as much as 8gb versions. I will, of course, keep looking.

8GB is still plenty of music!

Just for grins, I opened my iTunes program, and started selecting music.

1511 tracks selected (of various bitrates) gets me 7.81GB of music. There's some overhead that the iPod uses, so you could just figure somewhere around 1500 songs on an 8GB device.
