Apple likes product lineups in threes, but two sizes of phones with either 32 or 64 GB might fill that pretty well. The question is will they have an uber cheap 8 GB iPhone 6 for the masses in India and China. They have been losing market share in every segment but the top 10% of those markets.

iPad and iPhone are not different in my opinion because they run the same OS. Sure, some apps are tablet specific, but many that I use are the same on all iOS device. Again, simply a matter of opinion. As far as the iPhone 5/5c/5s not counting as a resolution bump when the resolution physically changes; well, I'm going to count it anyway. Precisely because the resolution physically changed.
While I do understand your point, the thread originally began with a discussion on the number of physical pixels and only later did you clarify that you were primarily interested in pixels per inch. I find it fair to include any change to PPI or actual number of pixels, but I concede this is once again a matter of opinion.

neophyte,
Thanks for the info. Lot of interesting tidbits to dissect. I do agree LG traditionally has played more in the entry and mid range level, although the last two years or so has seen some interesting flagships get released.
While traditionally not a big player on Verizon, any thoughts on recent Sony Xperia models? What's the "best" non S5 or Note 3 phone right now?

Yeah, the biggest negative the past few years was lackluster viewing angles. Then again, I think my Xperia Ion from 2012 is pretty decent and I've owned some really nice mobile displays such as on the Nook and iPad 3. Some interesting phones on the market, that's for sure.
