The way our society is, I'm sure everyone will sue everyone else.

Remember people, the solution to a bad guy with a car is a good guy with a bigger .... car!

Serioulsly, good on him, I might have done the same if I felt my kids were in danger.

No doubt he did the right thing - but I wonder if the insurance companies are getting ready to tell him to bend over...

Exactly.

I think they'd take the "for profit" stance.

That said, I don't know that they could deny the claim, but they could probably either just pay and treat it like an at-fault "accident", or drop him, after paying the claim.

It won't hurt that he has a police department, a bunch of parents, and the internet, to vouch for him to the insurance company....

Not a bit.

But I don't know that it will be any more help.

I hope there's no subsequent litigation from the driver's family.

The guy did good. I hope all goes well. He deserves all the slack he can get.

If he gets sued, I hope the families that he protected sue the kid that stole the car. Which if I understand correctly would put his parents on the hook. They might not get anything, but if each filed a separate lawsuit, the cost of defending their kid could cost them an awful lot.
Agree!
