New Amazon "device" on June 18th....

Huh. The only emails I get from Amazon are order confirmations/order shipped notifications.

Like graylocks and pinion, I'm on Amazon constantly, browsing and buying often. Maybe it's a Prime membership thing? :dunno:

You have to buy more than $35 before your 911 call goes through.

yeah, same here. 1 or 2 orders a week, all the time and still the least spam of any merchant aside from order confirmations. i only get an occasional new kindle books email, which i opted in to.

not being a wisea$$, but try this if you haven't:

Unsubscribe from Amazon.com Marketing E-mails

Set your Amazon.com marketing communications preferences to stop receiving all e-mails (except transactional e-mails, subscription e-mails and e-mail about programs you are enrolled in).
To unsubscribe from marketing e-mails:

Go to E-mail Preferences & Notifications
Select Do not send me marketing e-mail.
Click Save.

And too many 911 calls means your connection can be unexpectedly delayed by up to 2 weeks.

OTOH, the phones are delivered by drones !!

Same here.

I don't see how Amazon's Fire beats the Roku 3 I already have.

Or how an Amazon phone would cost less than the FreedomPop LTE phone I have coming.

I'm intrigued. Will I buy one? Probably not. Same deal as the Kindle Fire and Fire TV. While I really appreciate these devices and what they offer, I've already invested into competing "ecosystems" prior to Amazon's products being launched. While I could jump into another device pretty easily (I'm flexible and enjoy tech), I just haven't felt the need to lean into the Fire family. Not yet anyway.

As such, doubt I'm ready to go Fire Phone either, but I do appreciate all the healthy competition in this space. Looking forward to the announcement.

Pretty much, all of the above. One exception, I get a weekly notification of MP3 stuff. I've only bought a few mp3s, and I've never tried to shut the email off. Maybe I will.

But like many others, I do a lot of shopping and buying at Amazon.

I got about 20 Amazon e-mails over the last month that weren't related to a purchase. I think I did unsubscribe from some particular kind of message a while back.
The worst is when someone here posts a link to something on Amazon that you have to click to see what they're talking about, and then you get daily promotions for that type of item.
The RC copter offers did stop eventually, thanks Chak...

I use Prime so maybe for certain lucky customers they get the "Amazon Stalking" package as a feature,
