Back when I was in the record business, Woody Allen used a c. 40-sec clip from a CD we put out (Shirim Klezmer Orchestra). His company paid nicely for it, but the movie ("Deconstructing Harry") was godawful. I've never seen anything of his since.

"Hook" was godawful too, but I'm glad I didn't hold it against Spielberg - he has made a few decent flicks since it was released in 1991.

I think you have to be a New Yorker to be a Woody Allen fan.
His stuff seems very parochial.
