And it's more likely the former, as much as you want it to be the latter.
Still, you should go to various tech sites and use social media to reiterate that:
Best Buy was/is bullshitting.
Fraud.
Then they can wash, rinse, and repeat by showing the next rube a receipt from 7-12-2105.
At no point was it advertised as USED for over two years, more closer to THREE.
This is a mixture of incompetence and fraud. They knew it wasn't an "new open-box return".
but whomever they talked to in the back to reduce the price from 799 to 499 knew.
Either BB will realize you are bat-sht crazy and do whatever they need to make you happy and shut you up while giving the deceased equine the respect it deserves, or you'll get an education in legal terms such as fraud, misrepresentation, libel, proof, evidence, etc.
And you'll maybe make a little piece of the world safe for lowly rubes.
