Yep, plain old Ivory.
Can anybody recommend a quick-rinsing shower soap?

I like Dial Tropical something bars. I grew up using bar soap and refuse to use
body wash liquid. My wife uses some sorta body wash and you can't wring or rinse all the soap out if her washcloth no matter how hard you try. Personally I don't use a wash cloth, never have. ![]()

RAM,
Is it maybe the type of shower system rather than the soap? I find using a standard showerhead makes rinsing a pain. You just can't get everywhere and the places you reach don't rinse well enough. A hand shower does the job quickly and easily, whether I use liquid soap or bar soap, regardless of brand. You could say once you've used a handshower system it's tough to revert back to a standard shower. FWIW, I'm not a fan of liquid soap. It takes longer and I don't feel as if it cleans as well as a good quality bar soap. But, if I were to use a liquid soap, Dr Bronners soaps are very good. For regular bar soap, I switch between Bath and Body Works Like Butter bar soap, plain ol' original Dove and RedBurst Body Soap Bar. No problems rinsing with any of them. I won't use Ivory because it dries out my skin. If Ivory is the only soap available (when visiting friends and family), I know I'll have to use body lotion to counter its effects. Annoying! Robert

Strong "city" shower pressure, or well water with an excellent water-softener, with high flow makes all the difference.
With that said, my 3 favorite clean-rinsing soaps are: 1.) BASIS soap (original unscented white bar - not the red vitamin bar). 2.) Dr. Bronners Baby Unscented Castile Soap (or Peppermint scent). 3.) Dove pure White soap or Dove UNSCENTED sensitive skin soap - the others from Dove suck and are way too "perfumey". Happy rinsing! |
