Leader.
It’s all about the ssd.

The 8GB of soldered on RAM didn't help either (td)
Looks like the going rate on eBay is $350.
Put in a $12 adapter and an nvme ssd and that 2014 mini is a whole ‘nother beast.
For $350 it'll be someone else's project. Maybe yours! (tu)

and double click a photo and it opens instantaneously.

Do you know about quick look? I only ask beacuse I Just showed it to a long time Mac user. They had no idea it existed. I use it 100000 times a day. No click needed.

No. Experimenting with my only Mac at home while my company is working remotely was not something I was willing to risk. Now that I have the MM2020 up and running, the pressure is off and the MM2014 can be a side project.

Leader!

Out of curiosity, what kind of software are you using on the new mini? Anything you miss from the ‘14?

My needs are pretty minimal.

Splashtop Business (for work)
Adobe acrobat
Microsoft office apps
Chrome browser
SuperDuper! (haven't used it much since TimeMachine. Maybe once every 6 months)
I used to use Photoshop for editing pics. But I've found the editing capabilities within Apple Photos are pretty robust for my needs.
