My G4 Dual Boot MDD did not like their RAM. Once I switched it out, my random crashes disappeared.

In my dealings with them I've never had a significant problem. They once sent me the wrong type of RAM, I called, they said mail it back (at my expense, I guess, but it was $2.33 USPS Priority Mail so I didn't care), and they sent me correct RAM.
Deeply-discounted RAM is *always* a bit of a gamble, because most of it comes from chips that could not (for whatever reason) meet factory spec. Bit like buying "irregular" shirts. On machines that are KNOWN picky about RAM (most modern Macs, in particular Mac Pros), don't be a cheap sob -- buy quality RAM and don't worry about the few bucks extra. |
