... in Marietta, GA.
As suspected, the first part of the fire sale pretty much sucks. All the new Apple hardware appears to have been moved out right after the store closings were announced. About half a dozen MacBooks, four iMacs and one Mac Pro floor models are laughingly priced down a whopping five percent (which wouldn't even conver the sales tax here). Nothing much else of note; for instance, hard drives are full retail minus 10%, which again isn't even close to a decent sale price, much less what you can get similar product for on-line.
Then again, you'd get 20% off a $5 DVD of "Iron Eagle," which I think qualifies as the "best" deal in the store (and that says all you need to say about the "deal" quality this week).
I'll check again next week. There's still lots and lots of stuff on the shelves. Decent number of people in here checking things out, but nobody appears to be buying anything substantial so far.
