I kinda suspect that everyone who has that problem is represented in that thread, meaning the thread will make it look like the problem is everywhere but its really pretty rare.

This is the first I've heard of it. No problems with my M2 MBP. I see no reason to think you'll suffer the same problem. There's a very large number of people for which this problem would be a dealbreaker, including myself.
