Electric washer/dryer owners?
#21
I tried my dryer on 110AC once (one of those that could be wired 110 / 220).
Tying clothes to the roof rack of the car and driving around would have been faster and cheaper.

I have all electric. You gotta have dry clothes.
In the Winter the heat is vented into the dry house. Max three loads a week is not a moisture problem.
If I had a wood stove I could use even more humidity.

Yours may be an install where the conveniennce of electric worthwhiles the added expense.

A single person apartment the all-electric expense probably isn't an issue.
A four person family may be worth addinga gas meter and the capability.

[quote Jimmypoo]You have a gas washer?

That would be the Incinerator brand.

We have a LG combo Washer/dryer unit that fits under the kitchen counter.

Pros:
Requires a minimum of space, it's about the size of a diswasher.
Does not require venting
Runs on 110

but most importantly:

You don't have to go to the laundromat to wash your clothes.

It's all about the above idea. Any of the following drawbacks always pale in comparison to not having to go to the laundromat. There's definitely a trial and error learning curve with using this machine.

Cons:
Smaller load size
Wrinkles like a mofo
Takes forever (+/- 3 hours for a load of laundry to fully dry)
