Windows 7 launches today.

Significant problems with the download-version's installer... all surmounted via this tip:
http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discu...t-d-l.html

Made an installer iso, burned it and installed from DVD.

(One might think that by now MS would have figured out that they should send ISO files to begin with... Do you suppose they seek out as$holes to design their software or do they train them up from morons and jerks?)

Funny how everyone here craps on it without using it, just because it is microsoft. Sort of reminds me of all the PC users I know who bash Macs without ever trying one. I've been using Windows 7 on one machine for months now, and it is a beautiful OS. Very slick, fast and easy to use. Most of my computers are macs, but for the PCs I use, they will be getting an upgrade to Windows 7 as soon as possible.

Sorry but they have an extensive track record of their previous pieces of crap?

it's not Vista part 2 - talk to anyone who has been running it on their PCs since its pre-release.

Yep, the reviews have been very good. I'm going to try it. I guess it has a mac tool bar...I'm very encouraged by the reviews. I like XP and if 7 is enhanced XP it should be good.

Having spent a huge part of the day getting Windows 7 installed, then getting it to work with my network and see my printers and other miscellany, I can now say this definitively:

WINDOWS 7 SUCKS

Seriously. XP was actually more intuitive. Blech!

You may now go about your business as usual.

I recall Vista getting good reviews, then they had to rename it Mojave and then they had to eventually flush the toilet.

MS will have included something to screw it up. They always do.
