Will the "real" Republicans allow Romney to get the nomination in 2012?

Republicans are often elected in predominantly Democratic strongholds to straighten out the financial and law and order mess their Democrat predecessors left behind. Guilliani and a bunch of others come to mind.

Bernard Kerik comes to mind as well.

Not here, Romney was just the 4th Republican governor in a row. He just continued the mess that Weld, Celluci and Swift had created over the prior 12 years. Finally enough of the electorate wised up and realised the promised better conditions were not coming from the GOP.

Romney did for the Massachusetts Republican Party what Bush did for the national Republican Party.

Romney flip-flops on so many issues which include abortion, gay rights, stem cell research, campaign finance laws, immigration and gun control. He panders to whatever group he is trying to court for votes.

His biggest hurdle is he is a Mormon. I don't care what religion a candidate practices, but there are people who think Mormonism is close to being a cult.
