Just rain here in Raleigh for the moment. Can't wait to see if it changes over to snow.

They said it would start as rain here and may change to snow on the backside, mostly a rain
event. Never saw a drop of rain but the ground is fairly warm and it seems to be melting from
underneath. It's down to 32 degrees here and still snowing at pretty good clip.

Not a flake. Not one frigging flake this whole winter. I'm feeling very ripped off. The lawn is growing like mad, and it got its first mowing of the year this morning. Boo hiss. No, I don't live in a place like Atlanta, Sacramento, or Houston where snow is a rarity; I'm in the Pac NW for pity's sake. Sad We're setting new records for warm winter temperatures, and we'll be short of water pretty soon because the snow pack in the mountains in so low. There are places further north that are already rationing water. This is bizarre.

Worse than 2005 ?

That snow probably should be up here if El Nino weren't affecting weather like they claim it is.
Don't mind sharing most of it all with someone else for a change. :-)
Now that my itchy finger has posted a response, I figured I better come back and say something. Sad I haven't done a direct comparison between this year and 2005, but I think the answer is that it is worse. Not only have we had little snow, we haven't even had much rain, and we've been setting records for unseasonably high temperatures.

Love it. Plants are very confused this year, blooming a month early.
Enjoy your snow while you can!

OK duh! I meant 61 degrees, not 71, and it's, um, March 2.
I must have 7 on the brain...

Wilmington only got rain (just north of town, actually).
I have seen enough snow for the year, it isn't supposed to snow this much in NC, for heaven's sakes!

I am just outside Charlotte, NC...Snowed most of the night. Beautiful fat flakes. Got up about 4am..Nothing. I mean absolutely nothing on the ground. Didn't even look wet.

I think it has snowed 5 out of the last 7or8 weeks here...most of it melts quickly...but still...unnatural for us.
