I like to give spiders to my kids that have arachnophobia; take them to parties if they are agoraphobic, and let them watch American Idol if they are homophobic. Smile

Ginger. Buy some roots and make your own crystal ginger.

Useful only for wiping the corners of one's mouth after an SOS incident (getting Sick Over the Side).

Several boating friends swear by ginger as Pam noted above - I'm not affected by mal de mer, so I cannot speak from personal experience, but I have made long distance trips with friends mentioned and it kept them happy. I believe you can even buy it in pill form.

Hey, he and family members might be participating in a gathering I read about in an obituary posted in this morning's paper:

"XXX preferred to have no formal service or flowers. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held Friday, May 28th, 2010 on a yacht named "Fantasea." The boat will depart at 6:15pm to scatter his ashes off of the San Diego coastline."

I suppose that's one kind of boat trip that people might feel an obligation to go on, whether or not they get seasick.
