recall Soupy Sales Show and Shari Lewis Show.

Yes! His afternoon "kids" show was a blast. I think the guys working on the show had a better time than those watching. (And we were always laughing our pies off) I think that is the first time I can remember hearing a shows crew laughing so much on the air during the show.

R.I.P.

Here's one of my all time favorite clips from his show. Soupy almost loses it.

Warning! NSFW!!! Frontal nudity. (How did they get away with that?!?)

Umm,,, must be an outtake. Yes, frontal nudity. Kind of along the resolution of the 'face on mars', though. Jessica Rabbit was more revealing.

Wow. Soup looks just like Gerard Butler.

Someone else mentions this, too.

Wow - I haven't thought about him in years. I used to watch him after school here in NYC...

RIP, Soupy

White Fang, Black Tooth, Pookey and Hipppy - wonder whatever happened to them? Actually saw him several times in Ocean City, NJ at the annual Doo-Dah Parade. He was Grand Marshall one year.

He always made me laugh and I'm gonna miss him.

I remember when he got suspended for telling the kids to go in their mother's purses and send him all the green paper with the pictures of presidents!
Yeah, I remember that one. As I kid I heard the crew (not that I knew what they were back then) laughing and I just thought, 'Wow, Soupy makes everybody laugh!" RIP.

Soupy took his girlfriend to the baseball stadium.

He kissed her between the strikes.

She kissed him between the balls.

he'll still show up for a long, long time on GSN game show reruns from the 60's & 70's... just saw him while flipping through channels a couple of weeks ago, and wondered what happened to him... sadly, now we know...
