DO tend to set the tone of a thread early on...
You're welcome back any time... I'm just suggesting a quick proof read of your posts before clicking "Post Message".... 'cause hey, how would YOU read that? I'm thinking you'd be calling "Troll" just as quick.
Let's see you start a thread that gets 60 posts in 2 hours.

Easy, I'd just insult bicyclists, and I'd have at least 20 bitchy replies from YOU in 9 minutes....

Don't flatter yourself . . . hey were you ever able to track down one of the 'special' saddles I mentioned to get around your little "problem"?

Apple has one of the lowest if not the best for laptop repairs and have been so for several years according to Consumer Reports. It is a publication that does not take advertising.
That being said, sounds like you landed in the percentage of ones that need repair. Nothing designed by humans, especially portable things are perfect and probably never will be.
If you are as young as you say, life will be full of disappointments but with a a level approach, life will be ok through all the ups and downs.
Better luck in the future.

You guys win. I'm done. I concede.
I've never been called a troll so much in my life, but it made me laugh.
If I ever come back, I'll be singing Apple's praises.
Best Wishes, All.
Guys, give the girl a break! Sounds like the Dad set her up by making her all defensive before she even got started.
We need to call the DAD out as the troll. :villagers:
Bound, please do come back, and drag your Dad along by the ear so we can all give him a good talking to!

I have used a mac since I was three years old. When, I was nine, I decided that I was going to be CEO of Apple someday...I love Apple...My FOUR-MONTH-OLD 13" MacBook Pro died yesterday, possibly as a result of updating Snow Leopard to version 10.6.2...Apple has always been expensive...Now, it feels like we may just be paying for a brand...I've built my life dreams on Apple...I know that love can blind us...even if they are pretty.
Wow--best troll EVAR. Love it!
My FOUR-MONTH-OLD 13" MacBook Pro died yesterday
Take it in for service.
possibly as a result of updating Snow Leopard to version 10.6.2
Uh, no.
The only software that kills hardware is Flash.
we may just be paying for a brand
Don't include me with you, Cupertino Jones.
Maybe Apple is cutting corners, using lower quality parts to cut down on their costs
Oh, sure, like those cheap S-IPS panels with LED backlighting and those cheap milled aluminum cases...
help me tell Apple that we're not going to pay thousands of dollars for crappy computers, even if they are pretty
Well, yes, they are "pretty," but most would disagree with you about the "crappy" part. Consistent high results in large-scale reliability surveys tell me so. Did you miss those?
I was hoping that you might be able to help me
Yes, I can: Get another job. You suck at this one.
Love,
AA

So can any of you give me a good reason as to why my Mac costs three times as much as my friends' [more or less] comparable HPs or Dells?
Yes, I can! HPs and Dells are not "[more or less] comparable" to Macs.
And BTW, the closest matching HPs and Dells aren't one third the price of the corresponding Mac. In fact, the Mac is frequently less expensive, Troll.

In verbose mode, I got this error: proc 35: load code signature error 4 for file 'configd' and there was some "don't steal mac os" error...disk utility found some issue and said it couldn't be fixed
So, you were trying to install a pirated copy of Mac OS X onto a computer with bad third-party RAM.
Good one. Apple sucks.

This is sad.
On Slashdot this thread would have surpassed 500 posts by now.
