How do the elderly get money? You can't collect Social Security unless you've been paying into it for a certain amount of quarters.

Um, his modus operandi and intent was to kill people, not blow up buildings.
He studied people traffic via street cams to ascertain the best time of day / opportunity to try t o get 40 bodies.

Oh, I didn't know that. .
Obviously.

Dakota-
I'm afraid the naturalized citizens that I know personally do not have that mind set and approach to becoming and being a citizen. The folks that I know are hard working and very grateful to have become citizens. They don't take anything for granted, and are good citizens in every meaning of the word. We must travel in different circles.

Very a person's world view depends rather heavily on the company they keep.

One word. SSI. Claim poverty/disability and you are in. Every grandma/grandpa I know is on it. It is a great retirement package for the world.

you can get disability and public housing even when you've been deported because your temporary visa expired years ago.
Zeituni Onyango

I hope she stays and gets the care she needs- but there are too many holes in the systems

Getting a bit off topic here, but: :agree:

SSI:
"Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a Federal income supplement program funded by general tax revenues (not Social Security taxes):
- It is designed to help aged, blind, and disabled people, who have little or no income; and
- It provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter.

In other words: FREE money!!
One of my grandparents' greatest gripes was that they had paid into the system since its inception in the mid-1930s, yet their in-laws who moved here in the 1970s got nearly as much as they did (after signing over all of their assets to their children, thus becoming "poor" and eligible for all sorts of goodies)...
