See that long line of attorneys running behind ambulances? Be bitter that legally those MRIs are necessary.

No, they're not. Honestly, they're not. Doctors get kickbacks on them and they claim it's the lawyers but it's not.

You've never heard of defensive medicine? When I said "legally require", I didn't mean the law required those. I meant that the doctor has to do everything to prevent the patient from suing the practice.

Look at the medical care we give prisoners.
A *lot* of countries do not give their prisoners anywhere near the quality of health care most inmates are eligible for.
I'm torn on the situation, but rather than deny them that care, I certainly would like to see affordable, quality healthcare for every US citizen.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that. But the question is "What level of health care is a necessity?"

But the question is "What level of health care is a necessity?"
Granted, there's no easy answer there.
But more importantly everybody need to get onboard with the concept that medical care is a necessity, not a luxury. It's my feeling that not nearly enough people believe that.
Winning that battle would make determining "what level" less difficult. I can understand that it would be difficult but it shouldn't be contentious.
