I get the "boring." They roll up the carpet early in German-speaking Swiss cities (and then sweep up meticulously where the carpet was.)
I would most likely try to take in an opera or symphony concert in Zurich if possible . . . and try to get a sense of what's changed in the almost 20 years since I was last there.
Istanbul's a blank slate for me . . . is it safe for tourists?

I think I'd go experience Istanbul while that's still a good idea.

Oops, I meant . Not sure how that happened . . .
Two words..."Freudian Slip".
I'd go Istanbul!!! Catch the the light shows on the mosques after dusk...the grand bazaar...Galata Bridge to the newer part of town...but skip the Topkapi Palace tour and oysters on the shell near the docks.

After much thought, I think you should go to Istanbul.

what puddle-jumping airline goes to Warsaw via Istanbul ?
That must take all week. :devil:
Air Canada
Ohare -->Toronto-->Frankfurt--Warsaw is only $650.00 to $850.00
I wouldn't mind being stuck in Istanbul for a day or two though.
