Sounds like losing the loser would be worth gaining your daughter back .

You nailed it before your first period...

And how do you know when CJsNvrUrly had her first period?

Oh hell no, that dude's a loser. It's clear he didn't love her. I just can't imagine (or perhaps the better words are "don't understand why") she would go back to him. I'm sure these things can be explained. But boy I hate it when people do these kinds of things. Then again, maybe I don't understand much at all...

It's great that you're there for her. She'll figure it out.

Although I'm a bleeding-heart, look-for-the-best-in everyone, give-everyone-the-benefit-of-a-doubt pushover, tell her to DUMP THE LOSER, DUMP HIM NOW, AND DUMP HIM WHERE HE'LL STAY DUMPED. Don't wait for her to "figure it out" or she'll end up in her 30's with 3 kids and a big POS hanging around her neck the rest of her life.

Exactly my wife's parents' feelings. Except we only have two kids.

I learned a couple years ago that my late MIL didn't forgive me for marrying her daughter until 20 years after the wedding.

But unlike the original poster, I have had a continuous regular paycheck since I was a sophomore - in high school. No DUI, and I've OWNED a car and paid my OWN insurance since I was 17, never missing a payment (for either a car or insurance).

I have a good family friend whose daughter is in her 20s and she accepts physical abuse by her BFs. I truly do not understand - she's smart, beautiful, and has no self-confidence. So sad to watch her move back home every time her latest does her harm (psychological or physical).
