It doesn't do any good to tell people about Snopes, they will just continue to send crap. I'm amazed at
the sheer number of emails I get with just total BS in them and the people sending them honestly believe
them because it fits their agenda. I usually fact check them and fire back to everyone they've sent them to
to embarrass them for passing along nothing but gossip/BS.

I fact check after I look at snopes and other sites. I also look at the source of the citation. I guess some people will only believe things in their agenda but let's try to save a few people from idiocy.

I am impressed with the number of these items that say, "I've checked this with Snopes and it is true" which of course it usually isn't.

I have one buddy who sends these out and I pass on the Snopes.com link to everyone on the observable mailing list. So far he hasn't complained and the number of these things has decreased, but I think that the outcome of the November elections has made him calm down on the "Did You Know?" postings.
