What Ombligo said.
Stainless Steel (insulated) french presses rock.
The Nissan is good, and there are others on Amazon that will also work really well.
They're a joy to use. Hot coffee an hour later. Super easy to clean. Never break.

Wouldn't letting the grounds linger in the hot water add to the bitterness of the coffee? Wouldn't it be better to press the coffee, then put it into an insulated container?

Nissan looks like a good choice for stainless.
But I'm kinda think the aero because we have coffee drinking guests so seldom (losers).
I prefer the glass as well. Just some cloddy thing today.
I've had the Bodum for 5 year or so til I broke one last year.

I just like the insulation so the coffee is very hot when it's done brewing and I can drink it. Without the extra layer, it's not quite my preferred temperature when ready to drink... those brewing minutes equal lost heat. I don't leave any coffee in there for later drinking-you're right that the taste would suffer if you let it linger much.
In the summer, I do a cold brew in the fridge using the a full French press and drink that over a few days-in that case, since the coffee never sees heat, it's delicious down to the last sip.
I have one really strong, hot, excellent cup of coffee and don't go back for more-YMMV.

You know, you don't have to buy a completely new press - you can just buy the replacement glass from Bodum or a well-stocked coffee shop.

Yeah, that's how I got my 'bubble' one-went looking for replacement beaker and found that the new, better French press was $5 more than just the beaker.
