I've got a clone scheme going separately.
Just looking to alter TM to get some more options.
Decay - are you using that app? Like it?

I use CCC to do my daily backups, and TM for a long-term archive and hourly backups. Works fine.

I used TimeMachineEditor successfully in an earlier iteration. It was back in the days of Core2Duo and HDD, when time machine backups noticeably slowed my computer. I have not used (or felt the need to use) it in my current machine.

I don't want it running during the day when I'm working
Huh?
Wouldnt that be the *exact* time you want it running so your work is backed up?
Agreed!
then you'd both be wrong - I want to run it at the end of the day
So, go to system preferences, and in the morning turn it off. Then set a reminder, so you can turn it back on in the evening.

time is relative. Just make sure you move really fast relative to your computer.

I used TimeMachineEditor too in the past, but not sure it is running now. currently I am powering off my TM drive and turning it on periodically and running then. I also use super duper for a clone and for backups.

as others have mentioned, TME.
But I just run it as desired now.
Once a month or so and iBackup as a 2ndary.
