Just received the results of a long term radon study of my home. The range is high enough to waranty mitigation and I believe it is required prior to resale. Anyone have a mitigation system installed? How much did it set you back? (I've seen $800-$5,000). How much did it lower the radon concentration?

As I understand it, Radon isn't as big a problem for us here on the west coast...
Just crack a window once in a while... which, judging by that stack of dirty socks in the corner, wouldn't be a bad idea anyway...

That is correct. Those of us in northern California west of the Sierra Nevada don't really have to worry. The rock types that make up the crust in this part of the continent do not constitute significant radon hazards.

On the other hand...
If you live near a Uranium mine... probably better not to even HAVE a basement.. much less spend time down there...

Big in the Denver area.
Last house had it put in - had to fight with previous owner to get it done. New house tested better.
