Old-timers from the "old forum"
#21
My oldest post as 8500/G3 guy:
http://forums.dealmac.com/read.php?1,161...934#161934

My oldest post as The Ward:

Oldest post under any other handle-- May 5, 1999.

I think I stumbled in in mid-late '98.

The great server flush happened early '99 I think, so anyone claiming to be able to find their posts from '98 is in error.

I only go back to 4/2003 on the other place.

It is amazing what character a board can take. There was an old satellite board that folded one day - none of the others have the same flavor and I don't visit those very often. Glad everyone could make the transition here - I visit everyday.

I can't get on to check, but I started posting there sometime in 2001, right after my son willed me his B&W G3, and I found the Dealmac address in his Bookmarks. He'd been posting there before the first Palm 100 was introduced, so when was that? He won one in a Dealmac giveaway.

I started at the old place in February of 2002. Moved here when the unmentionable happened

Oldest post under this name I can find over there is early 2002. But that would have been after registration was required. Before that I just posted as "Joe", but someone else registered that first. Some others also posted as just Joe, so I can't find my oldest remaining post easily. I may have posted before the big server crash that lost everything before '99, but mostly then I just read DM.

Edit: Skimming through the old posts the oldest I am sure was mine is from Feb. '01.

My oldest posts over there are from '99. Looked at a few of them, but don't remember any of them! I had a clone in those days, SuperMac S900. Seems like ages ago. When things starting getting weird, was very glad to find this forum. I very, very rarely go back.
