I've been very happy with the Monster iCarPlay but, I think it's expensive. I bought the original model several years ago and got a deal at $50 or $60 dollars. The original model had 6 preset stations you would choose between. Here on Long Island, NY we have a lot of radio stations but, I've always been able to find 1 of the 6 that didn't get "stepped on".
The new model has a tuner so, users now can choose from more frequencies.
I don't know how these would work charging your device since Apple changed the pinout (I've had mixed results with some newer iPods / iPhone 3G (charging on some "old" devices and not charging on others).
You can probably pick a used / refurbed (or even new) on eBay or CL for well under MSRP.
