X-10 strikes again.
The light stopped functioning because it was plugged into an x-10 lamp module and the x-10 lamp module does not work with fluorescent lights. So it burned out.
I had forgotten that the x-10 module was 'hidden' under/in some structure. Removing that, and plugging the light in directly to an outlet resolved the issue.
Everything worked as needed last night.
