Anybody ever shop Safeway.com for home grocery delivery?

We have two chains offering online purchasing:
Safeway and Raley's (Northern Cal)
IME, Safeway is a distant second; frequent deliveries w/missing items, failure to notify if an item is out of stock, etc.
Safeway charges $8.95 to deliver and you must be available for a four hour period. Raley's does not deliver but only charges $4.95 to pull, bag and when you arrive, load your loot into your car *and* they will have it ready in a 1/2 hour window.
Raley's OTOH *always* calls if/when a substitution is nec., one can attach a note to each item ordered, e.g., "smallest Brussels Sprouts please" and so on.
Just my experience, YMMV

Thank you for relating your experience. Up here, Safeway is the only game for home delivery, and there are no stores offering anything remotely like Raley's. I figure I'll just try Safeway and see what happens.
