Hey pRICE cUBE (and others)— What do you think of the very inexpensive (and cheap?) Canon 50mm 1.8 that you mention? Adorama reviews say it's pretty good optically even though the plastic build quality is in line with it's very low price. Has anyone used this lens?
The reason I ask is that I would also like to get the 28mm 1.8 lens and at $480 I can't swing that and the $350 for the 50mm 1.4 here (which is very tempting). I'm currently using the 2 kit lenses (18-55, 55-250, both f3.5-5.6) with my T1i and an not impressed with the sharpness of the images from these lenses (not to mention the slow f ratio). I'm mostly shooting at 8MP as I see practically no difference in sharpness between this and the 15MP resolution, especially indoors sans flash (I prefer natural lighting) where I usually get ISO 800-1600.
