Yes. Great lens for the buck of course. Like pRON said, the 1.8 version is not silent but then again it's near silent. In fact, just a week or so mine become completely silent after I pulled out the camera it was attached to by mistake.
The camera dropped 3 ft. to the ground --- on carpet --- but on its nose and the lens broke into 2 pieces AND fell off the camera.
