There used to be a company out of LA called Van Luit. That was where the design headquarters were. We printed the paper at Katzebach and Warren, where I worked, in Waterford, NY. We were both owned by Imperial wallcoverings out of cleveland, and that was owned by Collins and Aikmann, a corp in VA or one of the Carolinas.
Van luit in LA was shut down in '90 or '91. K&W, the plant, was shut down in '93 and equipment moved to another Imperial plant in Canada. I don't know if papers are still being produced under those names.
My point is: if you dig around you might find a boutique hand printed place, and pay plenty. Or you can just go to a paint store (look for someone who specializes in paint and wallpaper, not Home Depot) and try to find a collection that is Southern California themed. If that's what you want.
