I lost my patience for hacking OS X installs when XpostFacto became obsolete. If I wanted to put so much work into configuration on a particular machine, I would use Linux, or maybe even NetBSD. Always had a soft spot for NetBSD, but never found a reason to deploy a NetBSD system. My loss really.
This is clearly a labor of love. Enjoy the experience and don't let this or other naysayer get to you. HP makes a nice looking Netbook. I also like one of the Toshiba models -- NB305. Wonder if the Toshiba is OS X friendly.
