hp 311 netbook hackintosh follow up

Hackintosh users, I just wonder if you could let us know how much $ you have in getting the Dells, etc., to run OS X - total amount, including extra RAM, everything. I really want to know, because I am seriously thinking about going this route instead of a refurb MacBook Air, which is currently $1,100 at Apple store (well, $1,099...).

I know everything works straight away with the MBA, and I like the size and weight compared to a Dell mini, etc., but WOW, the price of MBA! Therefore, my question... I am passing on the iPad as a laptop replacement.
