Yep. Toyota just invested $50 million in Tesla and Tesla has bought the former GM/Toyota NUMMI auto assembly plant in Fremont California where they are going to build the Model S. They are also planning to bring out a less expensive model (possibly badged as a Toyota to compete with the Nissan Leaf.
Except for the fact that there are no current plans for a convertible version, the Model S looks like something I'd be very interested in.
