At least I'm at home…(cont.) What's the longest you've gone without sleep? (poll)
#11
In college I was working on my senior projects. This required mold flow analyis and ANSYS finite element stress analysis. Both processes could take hours. If you found a problem you had to go back and redesign the mold and start the processes over again. I camped in front of 2 SGI Indy IRIX workstations for 3 days. Then I got on a plane and flew to Chicago for a job interview, then to Seattle for another interview, then to Atlanta for my presentation at the Society of Plastic Engineers Annual Technical Conference (ANTEC). Got the job in Yakima WA, won best in category award for my presentation at ANTEC, and managed to get free rountrip air-fare because I volunteered to be bumped from a flight in Chicago on the way to Atlanta. I don't remember a single thing from that week, but it did more to plot the trajectory of my life than any other single week up until my son was born. Apparently a sleep-deprived ztirffritz is quick-witted, funny, intelligent, holds his liquour well, and shrewed with business decisions.
