College graduates don't make that much.
Whitman and her family live in Atherton, CA, one of the wealthiest bay area towns. Median income there is around $250K and median home is around $2.2 million. So in Atherton, college graduates make quite a bit more than that.
BTW, whose house needs 8 hours a day work? 3 hours max, if you count watching TV. I'd love to see her living quarters too.
She wasn't hired for 8 hours a day. She was hired for 15 hours a week. For a home the size of Whitman's that's very little. I'm sure this was not all the household staff they had.
