Lion can troubleshoot and reinstall without a CD

There won't be any reason necessary, other than convenience, for Apple to provide DVDs. Anyone who feels they need one will be able to make their own disk or flash drive. And most people won't need even that.

For every person whose HD fails, I'd wager there are a bunch more that can't even find their original OS disk.
