How to format drive to share storage space between OS X and Windows?

Or, you could enable writing to NTFS on your Mac:

Used an older version that works very well. I really wish that Apple would just enable full NTFS support in OS X.

I had no idea such a thing existed, although going forward it would probably behoove me to have the drive in a format that any installation of OS X would support natively (10.6.5 or higher as it would appear). I am running 10.6.6 now so that should be fine. Thanks for the reference though, may come in handy some day.
