What chemical do they use to spray?

I bought a Belkin mouse pad last week that smelled awful for the first few hours of opening it. Thank goodness it didn't last. Most of the time, stuff like this doesn't bother me. This time, it was more than annoying. :eye:

And, yeah, I still use a mouse pad because my desk is glass. MacAlly mousie don't wanna work on glass, and I have several of them still new that I bought on closeout.
